Arielle Seidler is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland. She entered the field in 2013 after completing her MSW degree at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She went on to complete a 3-year intensive training program with the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia (GTIP). She has also trained with experiential and psychodrama experts and uses a blend of these different techniques in her clinical and supervisory work.

Arielle’s career has focused on addiction and trauma treatment with particular focus on couples and family therapy work. While working as a therapist for a highly respected addiction treatment program, she recognized the need for more intensive family therapy services and had a large role in developing, implementing and running their family programming. Arielle ultimately went on to hold more leadership positions in the field including as a supervisor and clinical director.

In addition to seeing individuals, families and couples in her private practice, Arielle is the Owner and Clinical Director for (Re)Connect Therapy Center, a mental health practice dedicated to providing clients with high quality experiential-focused care.

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a holistic approach that emphasizes awareness, personal responsibility, and the integration of mind, body, and emotions. Therapy sessions focus on increasing awareness of feelings, thoughts and behaviors in an effort to increase insight and lead to spontaneous growth. This approach is very process-oriented, meaning that therapy will focus not only on the “what” that is impacting clients but also on the “how”. This allows the client to develop deeper understandings of underlying dynamics and patterns that contribute to present difficulties.

Gestalt sessions can include a variety of clinical interventions ranging from talk therapy to experiential modalities designed by the client and the therapist to support client’s exploration of different aspects of themselves and their relationships.
